About Katie

Katie’s always been the creative type – her room was always cluttered with craft supplies and scraps of paper from her latest project. In 8th grade, Katie’s mom encouraged her to get involved at school so she joined the yearbook staff on a whim. Turns out, it was not only the perfect creative outlet, but an opportunity to learn about technology, communication, and leadership.

After graduating from the University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Digital Media and getting a job in the corporate world, she quickly learned that cubicle life wasn’t for her. Having always enjoyed working with children and student publications, she pivoted into a teaching role.

She was a high school journalism adviser for 6 years and built an award-winning journalism program from the ground up. She formally left the classroom in 2019, but continues to serve the journalism community through her passion project, Organized Adviser.

Currently, she is a project manager at Connective, ensuring that our projects are delivered on time, on budget, and always exceeding client expectations. She loves to bring our client’s ideas to life by creating systems that help us work together efficiently. She’s also our resident typo-finding ninja.

As a strong Enneagram 7, she’s often on the lookout for adventure when not behind her desk. She and her husband are high school sweethearts and have spent the last few decades making fun memories through scuba diving, riding as many roller coasters as possible, and cruising around the Caribbean. They also run a mosquito control company in Houston called No More Mosquito and have the sweetest Siberian cat named Ash.
