We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Public Relations Manager to generate media attention, build brand awareness, and manage public relations efforts for our clients. This role requires strong writing skills, relationship-building expertise, and the ability to develop opportunities across various media platforms. This is a remote position where you will be working 38 to 40 hours on weekdays, with very occasional weekend and overtime work.

Where You’ll Fit In: As a Public Relations Manager, you will lead efforts to secure media coverage, build relationships with key media outlets, and manage public-facing communications for our clients. This includes writing press releases, arranging interviews, training clients on media interactions, and identifying opportunities in podcasts, radio, TV, and online publications. You’ll also coordinate influencer campaigns, manage PR-related link building, and ensure our clients are positioned effectively in their respective industries.
Essential Duties
- Develop and execute PR strategies to generate media coverage and build brand awareness.
- Write and distribute press releases, ensuring alignment with client goals and target audiences.
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, influencers, and industry leaders.
- Identify and secure podcast, radio, and TV interview opportunities for clients.
- Provide media training to clients to prepare them for interviews and public appearances.
- Submit clients for awards and manage PR link-building campaigns to secure quotes on high-authority websites.
- Stay informed about current news and leverage trends to align client brands with relevant stories.
- Manage tools like Forbes Council, Quoted, and similar platforms to create opportunities for clients.
- Coordinate and organize client events and influencer marketing collaborations.
- Actively monitor and respond to industry news to position clients effectively in their verticals.
- Engage directly with clients to understand their industries deeply and tailor PR strategies accordingly.

Our work weeks typically range between 38 and 40 hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and overtime. We use a timer to track our work hours, which is crucial for client billing, setting pricing, and reviewing job profitability. This process is mandatory at Connective.

Education, Skills, and Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in public relations or a related role, with a track record of securing media placements.
- Exceptional writing skills, including press releases and public communications.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with media outlets and influencers.
- Strong understanding of PR link building and tools like Forbes Council and Quoted.
- Familiarity with organizing events and coordinating influencer marketing campaigns.
- Experience managing crisis communications.
- Knowledge of SEO and digital marketing strategies as they relate to PR.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously.
- Deep understanding of niche industries and the ability to tailor strategies accordingly.
