We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Web Designer to create visually compelling and functional websites that fulfill client objectives. This role requires a blend of strong design skills, front-end web development expertise, and deep knowledge of the WordPress ecosystem. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment and possess a keen eye for visual storytelling.

This is a remote position where you will be working 38 to 40 hours on weekdays, with very occasional weekend and overtime work.

Where You’ll Fit In: As a Web Designer, you will design and implement complete websites for diverse clients, including lead generation and e-commerce sites. You’ll use tools like Figma and Elementor to create user-friendly designs that align with client branding and goals. You will also collaborate with art directors, junior web designers, and UX/UI teams to ensure a seamless design process from start to finish.

Essential Duties

• Design and implement responsive websites using Figma, Elementor, and other front-end tools.
• Develop and visually represent client brands through creative web design.
• Manage the entire website design process, including SEO implementation, speed optimization, and performance enhancements.
• Work on platforms including WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, Squarespace, and Wix, with Webflow experience as a bonus.
• Create flat designs from UX/UI mockups and also design websites directly in place.
• Stay current with design trends to deliver modern and innovative visual solutions.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to junior web designers, fostering career growth and design quality.
• Ensure all designs fulfill client objectives and goals while adhering to brand guidelines.

Our work weeks typically range between 38 and 40 hours, Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends and overtime. We use a timer to track our work hours, which is crucial for client billing, setting pricing, and reviewing job profitability. This process is mandatory at Connective.

Education, Skills, and Experience

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Expert-level skills in WordPress, including Elementor, WooCommerce, and related plugins.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and front-end web development.
• Experience with Shopify, Squarespace, and Wix.
• Strong design skills with the ability to create visually appealing and functional websites.
• Ability to translate flat designs from UX/UI designers into responsive websites.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams and clients.
• Experience designing websites directly in place without mockups.
• Knowledge of Webflow and its applications.
• Ability to provide mentorship and constructive feedback to junior web designers.
• Up-to-date knowledge of design trends and how to integrate them into projects.
